|
Effects of specific growth rate on the expression of Bacillus licheniformis maltogenic amylase (BLMA) in recombinant Escherichia coli were investigated in batch and continuous cultures. Concentrations of glucose and ¥á-methylglucoside in the growth medium were changed to modulate the specific growth rate in batch cultivation and dilution rates were varied in continuous cultivation. The experimental results clearly demonstrated that specific BLMA activity decreased with increasing specific growth rate for both batch and continuous reactors, suggesting the inverse relationship between specific growth rate and specific BLMA activity.
